Plan Your Visit

The Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library is located on the fourth floor of Mitchell Memorial Library, on the beautiful campus of Mississippi State University, in Starkville, Mississippi.

Parking

When visiting MSU's campus, we recommend using the metered parking lot at the corner of East Lee and Hardy Rd.

Please do not enter gated areas or park in spots designated for university administration. We are not able to assist with unauthorized entry of gated areas.

Campus directions coming from the East, going West down HWY 182

1. Turn left onto George Perry Street turning onto campus.
2. Drive until you come to the 4-way stop.
3. At the stop, you will take a left onto Bailey Howell Drive.
4. Drive until you hit the stop light which intersects with East Lee Boulevard.
5. Turn right onto East Lee Boulevard.
6. Turn into the Steak & Shake parking lot on the left.
7. You can use the metered parking in the Steak & Shake parking lot or go to Parking Services in the Steak & Shake building.

Transit

S.M.A.R.T. (Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit) stops at Mitchell Memorial Library Monday-Friday on the MSU Central route. MSU’s own shuttle system runs throughout campus and into Starkville, with special shuttles for late nights and game days. The MSU Central route stops regularly at Mitchell Memorial Library. Campus directions from HWY 12

1. Turn onto Blackjack Road. Depending on which direction you are coming from, you may turn right or left at the 4-way stop light.
2. While driving on Blackjack Road, look for Wingo Way.
3. When you reach Wingo Way, turn left.
4. Continue on Wingo Way and turn left at the 3-way stop.
5. You will find Park Mobile parking in the parking lot behind the Industrial Engineering building (the building has two large towers and rust colored brick).

How to park in metered parking and avoid the Park Mobil app:

6. Go through the 3-way stop sign and continue to the 4-way light on intersection of East Lee Blvd and Wingo Way.
7. At the 4-way light turn left on East Lee Blvd.
8. Turn left into the Steak & Shake parking lot before you reach the gate and use the metered parking.
